Living Dead in Dallas

Synopsis

In the electrifying second installment of Charlaine Harris's Sookie Stackhouse series, 'Living Dead in Dallas' plunges telepathic cocktail waitress Sookie into the treacherous world of the undead far beyond her small Louisiana town. When a local vampire, Lafayette, is brutally murdered and his body found in the back of her boss Sam Merlotte's refrigerator, Sookie's unique gift becomes indispensable. After agreeing to help the undead community, she and her vampire boyfriend, Bill Compton, travel to Dallas. Their mission: to use Sookie's telepathy to investigate the disappearance of another vampire, Godfrey, and identify the human culprits. However, the Dallas vampire community operates under different, more ruthless rules, and Sookie finds herself entangled in the dangerous politics of the Great Revelation and burgeoning anti-vampire sentiment. With a promise from the vampires to spare human lives hanging by a thread, Sookie must navigate a labyrinth of deceit, violence, and unexpected alliances, all while facing the stark reality that even with a vampire protector, her own life is constantly on the line.
