Synopsis

Gorm Ingerson, a legendary dwarven hero, finds himself disgraced and disowned by his guild, struggling to survive in a world where adventuring has become a highly commercialized and often morally bankrupt industry. Known as 'Orconomics,' this system of venture capital, stock options, and ruthless competition dictates the lives of heroes and monsters alike. Desperate for a chance at redemption and a final score, Gorm reluctantly joins a motley crew of down-on-their-luck adventurers: a perpetually broke half-orc barbarian, a surprisingly cunning elven cleric, and a shady, perpetually drunk rogue. What begins as a seemingly simple quest for treasure quickly spirals into a much larger conspiracy, forcing Gorm and his companions to confront the dark underbelly of their world's economic system. J. Zachary Pike masterfully blends epic fantasy with razor-sharp satire, creating a humorous yet poignant critique of capitalism, corporate greed, and the very tropes of the fantasy genre itself, all wrapped in a thrilling adventure.

Critical Reception

"The Dark Profit Saga is widely acclaimed for its ingenious world-building, biting wit, and insightful satirical critique of both high fantasy tropes and modern economic systems."
