Synopsis

Set against the humid backdrop of a Mississippi Delta plantation, Tennessee Williams's Pulitzer Prize-winning play, "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof," unveils a blistering portrait of a wealthy Southern family fraught with secrets, lies, and unfulfilled desires. The occasion is Big Daddy Pollitt's 65th birthday, celebrated under the shadow of his impending death, though he remains blissfully unaware, having been told his cancer is merely a spastic colon. At the heart of the drama are Brick, a once-promising football hero turned alcoholic, consumed by grief and guilt over the death of his friend Skipper, and his beautiful, frustrated wife, Maggie, who desperately clings to their marriage and her place in the family amidst Brick's emotional withdrawal and their childlessness. As the family gathers, including Brick's conniving brother Gooper and his fertile wife Mae, a fierce battle for Big Daddy's immense fortune erupts, peeling back layers of mendacity and forcing characters to confront brutal truths about love, sexuality, and the illusions they cling to for survival.
