Synopsis

In the gripping third chapter of R. A. Salvatore's New York Times–bestselling Neverwinter Saga, Drizzt Do'Urden finds himself entangled in a web of vengeance and uncertain alliances. Having defeated the sorceress Sylora Salm, Drizzt's enigmatic companion, Dahlia Sin'felle, remains consumed by her lifelong quest for retribution against the nefarious Netherese lord, Herzgo Alegni. Despite their growing intimacy, Drizzt struggles to reconcile the darkness within Dahlia and questions the morality of fighting a battle fueled purely by personal revenge. The complexities deepen with the arrival of Artemis Entreri, Drizzt's perennial nemesis. Entreri offers his aid to Dahlia, hoping to secure his freedom, but his motives are suspect. Complicating matters, Entreri is possessed by Charon's Claw, Alegni’s sentient, manipulative sword, which subtly influences his actions and thoughts. Drizzt watches warily as Entreri’s presence reignites old rivalries and sparks new jealousies, particularly concerning Dahlia. As the lines between friend and foe blur, Drizzt must confront the true nature of his companions and the ever-present threat of Alegni, all while grappling with the moral compromises required to protect those he cares for.
