Synopsis

As Dr. Alex Cross prepares to step away from the Washington Police Force, eager for a new chapter with Jamilla Hughes and believing his nemesis, the Mastermind, is behind bars, his plans are abruptly shattered. His long-time friend, Detective John Sampson, urgently seeks his help. Three young military wives have been brutally murdered during a 'girls' night out,' and Sampson's friend, a master sergeant at a nearby army base, stands accused. What begins as a personal favor quickly escalates into a chilling investigation as Cross and Sampson uncover a pattern of suspicious murder convictions within the closed, secretive world of the military. Determined to expose the truth, they confront a system that seems intent on hiding its secrets, including the chilling significance of mysterious symbols daubed on the accused's house. Cross finds himself entangled in a conspiracy far more sinister than he could have imagined, forcing him to question who is truly pulling the strings and whether the military itself is covering up a monstrous crime.
