Synopsis

In the scorching summer of 1976 London, a pervasive heatwave and drought serve as a fitting backdrop for the sudden disappearance of Robert Riordan. After simply stating he's stepping out for a newspaper, Robert vanishes, leaving his wife Gretta and their three adult children reeling. The unexpected crisis draws the estranged Riordan siblings – two sisters and a brother grappling with their own personal turmoil, including a faltering marriage – back to their childhood home. As they converge, each with their own theories about their father's whereabouts, old resentments resurface, and long-buried family secrets begin to simmer beneath the surface. The search for Robert becomes a journey into the complex dynamics of a family fractured by time and unspoken truths. What none of them suspect is that Gretta, their enigmatic mother, holds a hidden explanation for her husband's departure, a secret she has guarded fiercely for decades, threatening to unravel the very foundation of their family.
