Synopsis

In the vibrant social whirl of Regency London, Daphne Bridgerton, the eldest daughter of the respected Bridgerton family, finds her marriage prospects dwindling despite her charm and beauty. Meanwhile, Simon Basset, the enigmatic and notoriously rakish Duke of Hastings, has sworn off marriage to spite his late father. Their paths converge in a mutually beneficial, albeit deceptive, arrangement: they will feign an engagement to elevate Daphne's standing in the marriage market and keep Simon free from the persistent efforts of society mothers. What begins as a calculated charade, however, soon blurs the lines between pretense and genuine emotion. As they navigate balls, promenades, and the keen eyes of the ton, Daphne and Simon discover an undeniable chemistry and a profound connection that challenges their carefully constructed defenses. This delightful and witty tale explores the complexities of desire, societal expectations, and the unexpected journey from a fake courtship to a love that defies all plans.
