Synopsis

When four-year-old Amanda McCready vanishes from her Boston home, private investigators Patrick Kenzie and Angela Gennaro are thrust into a labyrinth of deceit that threatens to consume them. The case, initially one of simple abduction, quickly unravels into a morally ambiguous quagmire, exposing the rot beneath the city's surface. Amanda's indifferent mother, a history of paedophilia linked to the family, and a shadowy police unit hint at a conspiracy far deeper than a simple missing child. As the investigators dig, they confront a media more interested in sensationalism, a police force riddled with lethal secrets, and a powerful, faceless entity determined to obstruct their every move. With every revelation, Patrick and Angie are forced to confront agonizing ethical dilemmas, realizing that the truth might be more devastating than the lie, and that some lines, once crossed, can never be uncrossed. The search for Amanda becomes a harrowing descent into a moral abyss, challenging their very definitions of justice and family.
