Synopsis

Humanity stands at the precipice of a new era. The alien protomolecule, having restructured itself after its initial appearance, has manifested a colossal, starless gate beyond Uranus – a gateway to unknown cosmic territories. This monumental event draws humanity's attention, leading to a massive flotilla of scientific and military vessels, including the intrepid crew of the Rocinante led by Captain Jim Holden, to investigate. While the gate promises unprecedented opportunities for exploration, it also harbors immense dangers. Behind the scenes, a nefarious and complex plot unfolds, targeting Holden and threatening to ignite a devastating interspecies conflict or a civil war amongst the voyagers. As factions within humanity grapple with whether the gate is a gift or a threat, the true peril may come not from the alien architecture itself, but from the dark ambitions and desperate actions of the humans who journey through Abaddon's Gate.
