Synopsis

In 'Unnatural Exposure,' Dr. Kay Scarpetta finds herself at the epicenter of a chilling international murder mystery that bridges continents and threatens global security. What begins as a routine lecture tour in Ireland soon pulls her into a macabre investigation, linking a series of brutal, dismembered killings discovered in Dublin five years prior to recent similar atrocities in Richmond, Virginia. While five bodies were found in Ireland, four more have appeared in the States, leading Scarpetta to suspect a sinister connection. However, the discovery of a tenth corpse in Virginia, bearing vital discrepancies, suggests a ghoulish copycat at play. The true horror unfolds when the subsequent victim reveals an unthinkable weapon: smallpox. Scarpetta and her team are plunged into a desperate race against time, not only to identify a sadistic serial killer but to contain a potential pandemic unleashed by the deadliest biological agent known to humanity, challenging her forensic expertise and pushing her to the brink of terror.
