Synopsis

John Smith is not who he seems. He is Number Four, one of nine extraordinary children who escaped their dying planet, Lorien, just moments before its destruction by the ruthless Mogadorians. Now, hiding on Earth, he's constantly on the run. Three of his kind have already been hunted down and killed, and John knows he is next. Accompanied by his guardian, Henri, he moves from town to town, desperately trying to evade his pursuers and live a normal life – a desire complicated by his developing superhuman abilities, known as Legacies. In the seemingly idyllic town of Paradise, Ohio, John finds himself falling for Sarah Hart and befriending Sam Goode, a fellow outsider obsessed with alien conspiracy theories. As his powers grow and his connection to the other Loric intensifies, John realizes he can no longer hide. He must embrace his destiny, unite with the remaining survivors, and fight back against the Mogadorian threat that seeks to eradicate all Loriens and, eventually, conquer Earth. His journey is one of self-discovery, first love, and the heavy burden of being humanity's last hope against an ancient enemy.
