Synopsis

Born at the pivotal 'Turning of Autumn' as her High Priestess mother Rian dies, Eilan is immediately marked by a powerful prophecy: she will stand at the 'gateway between two worlds.' Initially raised as Helena in the Roman court of her father, King Coel, her destiny calls her back to Avalon at age ten. There, she begins her arduous training as a priestess, despite the fierce opposition of her High Priestess aunt, Ganeda, who seeks her failure. Yet, Helena flourishes, becoming a compassionate healer and gifted priestess. On the night of her initiation, a potent vision reveals her future: a fateful encounter with the Roman Constantius, the man she will love and who will father the one destined to free Britannia. Their forbidden love, sparked by a deceitful tryst within Avalon's sacred grounds, leads to their banishment. As Constantius is drawn back into the volatile politics of Rome and the rise of a new religion, Helena navigates treacherous paths, her life poised to fulfill the ancient Merlin's prophecy amidst an empire in flux and the clash of old and new worlds.
