Synopsis

In the murky, atmospheric backdrop of 1950s Dublin, pathologist Dr. Quirke and Detective Inspector Strafford are thrust into a chilling new case that promises to be their most troubling yet. The discovery of a young woman's body in a desolate lock-up garage initially points to a tragic suicide, but the keen instincts of Quirke and Strafford soon detect the unsettling signs of foul play. As the victim's sister arrives from London, eager for answers, the strained relationship between the two investigators adds another layer of complexity to the unfolding mystery. Their relentless pursuit of truth leads them down a dark and winding path, peeling back the layers of post-war society and unexpectedly drawing them back to long-buried secrets from the final, tumultuous days of the Second World War. As the past collides violently with the present, Quirke and Strafford must race against time to piece together a hidden puzzle before the truth, and more lives, are irrevocably lost.
