Synopsis

In a sweltering Memphis summer, idealistic but broke law school graduate Rudy Baylor finds himself with no job prospects and a mountain of debt. His only hope lies in a pro bono case: a desperate family whose son is dying of leukemia, denied coverage by a powerful, corrupt insurance giant, Great Benefit. Thrust into the cutthroat world of civil litigation with minimal experience, Rudy must go up against a formidable team of seasoned corporate defense lawyers and their vast resources. What begins as a seemingly small claim quickly escalates into a high-stakes, multi-million dollar battle for justice, exposing shocking levels of fraud and corporate malfeasance. As Rudy navigates legal maneuvers, ethical dilemmas, and even outright violence, he risks everything – his career, his safety, and his life – to hold the powerful accountable and become the unlikeliest of 'rainmakers'.
