Synopsis

Following the disastrous Twelfth Expedition into the enigmatic Area X, 'Authority' plunges into the bureaucratic chaos of the Southern Reach agency, the secret organization tasked with monitoring and understanding the anomaly. John Rodrigues, code-named 'Control,' a pragmatic operative with a complex family legacy, is thrust into the role of the new director. He inherits a demoralized and distrustful team, a labyrinthine office filled with hidden truths, and a mountain of cryptic evidence from past expeditions. Through intense interrogations, analysis of unsettling video footage, and discovery of concealed documents, Control races against time to unravel the mysteries of Area X, the true nature of the previous expeditions, and the devastating secrets of the agency itself. As he digs deeper, he confronts not only the cosmic horror emanating from Area X but also disturbing truths about his own identity and the shadowy organization he now leads, revealing that the answers to the greatest enigmas are often closer, and more personal, than anticipated.
