Synopsis

In the gripping installment of the Alex Verus series, "Veiled," our protagonist, Alex Verus—a mage gifted with precognitive abilities—finds himself navigating treacherous new territory. Having reluctantly agreed to join the Keepers, the magical law enforcement agency, Alex's primary motivation is to shield his friends from the insidious influence of his former master, the notorious Dark Mage Richard Drakh. However, transitioning from an outcast to an enforcer proves fraught with peril. Suspicion dogs his every move, particularly from Keepers who distrust his past associations with dark magic, especially as Dark Mages seize an unprecedented opportunity to gain a seat on the council. Trapped in a swirling vortex of Light and Dark political machinations, Alex plunges into a murky underworld teeming with dangerous secrets that lead all the way to the highest echelons of power. With the law now ostensibly on his side, Alex must question whether a mere badge can truly protect him from the escalating dangers and complex allegiances threatening to consume him.
