Synopsis

Centuries after Connavar secured the Rigante's freedom, their lands and culture have been suppressed by the Varlish king, with the black-hearted Moidart ruling from the former seat of power. Only in the rugged Druagh mountains do the clansmen retain their liberty and ancient magic, galvanized by the charismatic outlaw leader, Ravenheart. His rebellion has sparked a revolution among the conquered clans, who yearn to reclaim their lost greatness. However, the Rigante's resurgence is not the only conflict brewing; a brutal civil war in the south has unleashed armies of destruction, now creeping north. Ravenheart anticipates the inevitable clash with Moidart's forces, led by his formidable son, Stormrider. Unaware of the world's fate resting in their hands, these two formidable adversaries—enemies forged in uncommon courage—are destined to unite against an ancient, vengeful evil that resurfaces from the uncharted past. As immense armies of darkness advance, threatening to crush all before them, a few thousand Rigante stand as the last bastion, embodying extraordinary courage when all seems lost.

Critical Reception

"Praised for its spellbinding action, breathtaking adventure, and deeply human heroes, 'Stormrider' is a cornerstone of epic fantasy that continues David Gemmell's legacy of mythic storytelling."
