His investigation leads him to a trove of journals written by his father, David Dubin, during the harrowing final months of World War II. As a young, idealistic lawyer, David was sent to the European Front with a cryptic mission: to prosecute Captain Robert Martin, a decorated American hero who had inexplicably gone rogue. David's assignment quickly unravels into a complex web of moral ambiguity and danger when he becomes entangled with Martin's enigmatic and courageous ex-mistress.
