Synopsis

In Zoje Stage's 'Getaway,' a proposed healing retreat devolves into a terrifying ordeal deep within the Grand Canyon. Imogen, still reeling from a traumatic attack, is persuaded by her sister Beck to reunite with their high school friend Tilda for a backcountry hike. Intended as a way to reconnect and find solace in nature, the journey quickly unravels as old tensions resurface among the three women, who have drifted apart over two decades. The remote and unforgiving terrain becomes a crucible for their frayed relationships, but their personal struggles soon take a sinister turn. When essential supplies inexplicably vanish, it becomes chillingly clear that their shared past isn't the only thing stalking them. As the line between friendship and survival blurs, they must confront an unseen, malevolent presence, transforming their wilderness escape into a harrowing fight for their lives against an unspeakable evil. Stage masterfully crafts a suspenseful narrative that explores the depths of human relationships under extreme duress.
