Synopsis

Fresh from his harrowing return from Hell, James Stark, the infamous anti-hero Sandman Slim, finds himself once again plunged into the chaotic fringes of the supernatural underworld. Following the unholy havoc he wreaked in his previous escapades, Slim is now tasked with an even more bizarre and perilous assignment: serving as personal bodyguard to none other than Lucifer himself, who has taken up residence in the glittering, yet surprisingly vulnerable, landscape of Hollywood. But the City of Angels is far from safe, as an unprecedented zombie apocalypse erupts, threatening to consume both the living and the damned. With his signature blend of brutal wit, demonic prowess, and a healthy dose of cynical pragmatism, Slim must navigate celestial politics, infernal machinations, and hordes of the undead, often single-handedly, to avert a catastrophe that could engulf all creation. Kadrey delivers a darkly humorous and action-packed urban fantasy that solidifies Slim's place as a uniquely compelling, demon-slaying protagonist.
