In a world ravaged by the zombie apocalypse, Benny Imura, now a teenager, lives in a fortified town called Mountainside. Under the reluctant apprenticeship of his older brother, Tom, a legendary zombie hunter, Benny begins to grapple with the harsh realities of their post-apocalyptic existence. What starts as a grudging mentorship evolves into a profound journey of self-discovery, as Benny learns that not all monsters are undead, and humanity can be found in the most unexpected places. As he and his friends, Chong, Nix, and Lilah, venture into the treacherous 'Rot & Ruin' beyond the town's borders, they become entangled in a desperate struggle against a cruel slave trader known as Farmer John. Exiled without weapons and surrounded by hordes of the hungry dead, Benny and Chong must fight for survival, while Nix and Lilah face a terrible fate as prisoners. This perilous quest forces the four young survivors to confront impossible choices, testing their loyalty, courage, and the very limits of their humanity in a world teetering on the brink of madness.
