Jennifer Lynn Barnes is an American author of young adult novels and a professor of psychology. Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1984, Barnes began writing her first books in high school and had several published by the time she was a teenager. She graduated from Yale University in 2006 with a degree in psychology, where she was also a competitive cheerleader. She then studied at Cambridge University as a Fulbright Scholar before earning her Ph.D. in psychology from Yale in 2012. Currently, she is a professor at the University of Oklahoma, specializing in the cognitive science of fiction and imagination.
