Elizabeth Lim is a New York Times bestselling author of young adult and middle grade fantasy novels. Born in California and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, she is a first-generation Chinese American. Lim's passion for storytelling began at a young age, fueled by her love for fairy tales, mythology, and East Asian culture. She studied music composition at The Juilliard School and has a doctorate in musical arts from the University of Michigan, experiences that often infuse her writing with lyrical prose and a keen sense of rhythm. Before becoming a full-time author, Lim worked as a film and video game composer.
