Michelle Paver, born in 1960, is a British novelist celebrated for her children's fantasy series, 'Chronicles of Ancient Darkness,' and her compelling adult historical horror novels. Born in Malawi to a South African mother and a British father, she relocated to Wimbledon, England, at the age of three. Paver pursued Biochemistry at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford University, and subsequently embarked on a successful legal career, becoming a partner in a London law firm. In 1996, she made the pivotal decision to leave law and dedicate herself entirely to writing. Her work is deeply informed by an enduring fascination with ancient history, mythology, and the natural world.
