After earning a degree in communication from the University of Washington, she worked in advertising before attending the University of Puget Sound School of Law, where she earned her J.D. It was during her pregnancy, while confined to bed rest, that she began her journey as a writer, pursuing a long-held dream. Hannah published her first novel, 'A Handful of Heaven,' in 1991.
